ILM vet to direct Captain America movie. Marvel has signed Joe Johnston (Hidalgo, The Rocketeer) to helm The First Avenger: Captain America. Johnston got his start as an effects illustrator and designer on Star Wars, and also worked on ESB, ROTJ, Raiders, Temple of Doom, Willow, and Young Indy.

It’s a wee bit too early for holiday shopping, no matter what the store decorations say. Still, Amazon is right this minute offering the Disney / Pixar Ultimate Collection for $109.99, 54% off list price. Fate of the Jedi Cover Plans

A little while back, Sue Rostoni told us that we can expect to see Luke Skywalker on the cover of the upcoming “Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Outcast” novel. What she didn’t tell us then, however, is we can also can expect to see someone else. According to Rostoni,

“The plan for the Fate of the Jedi books is to have a main character on the cover as well as a secondary character. The design concepts we saw showed just the one character — I haven’t seen a final concept for OUTCAST yet.

Well, it’s not the cover, but at least we know to expect more than just Luke on Outcast!

TCW Gets Encore Time!

According to Star Wars.com,

“..beginning this Saturday, Nov. 15, Cartoon Network will add an encore presentation of Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Saturday mornings! All-new episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars premiere at 9 p.m. Fridays. And now, at 9:30 a.m. each Saturday, Cartoon Network will re-air the previous evening’s 30-minute episode, providing a new opportunity to experience the adventure.”
